Remote Coding for Windows

First, please SCHEDULE YOUR SESSION USING THE FOLLOWING LINK: https://bimmertech.simplybook.it/v2/

This page will guide you through the detailed preparation steps for your upcoming coding session. If you would like to watch a short summary of the coding session preparation process, please check out the video below.

Please read the entire manual and do not forget to install all the software listed in this guide.

Do NOT connect the cable to the car until requested – this can cause problems during activation.

Prepare your equipment

Before your session ensure you have the following prepared:

    1. An ENET coding interface.

    2. A laptop running Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, 11) with ADMIN ACCESS.

To check whether you have admin access, open the Control Panel and navigate to the User Accounts section. You should see your account name with the word “administrator.”
Disable your computer's firewall before starting. It is required to allow our technician to connect to your vehicle.
    3. An Ethernet port in your laptop (or external USB-RJ45 adapter).

If you do not have one, you can purchase an Ethernet Adapter from BimmerTech.

    4. Internet network that you can connect to in your car (WiFi, mobile hotspot, or any other Internet access point with a stable connection).
Please note that your computer will need to remain connected to the Internet and your vehicle throughout the entire coding session.

Prepare your software

We recommend disabling any ad blockers you might have before downloading files and using the EDGE browser. If your Windows doesn’t allow you to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store, refer to the instructions provided in this link: CLICK HERE

You need to download and install EACH program listed below.

Programs needed:

  1. TeamViewer:

Please note that there is no need to register on the TeamViewer website.

Just before you start your coding session, restart your computer. Some of the software you have installed will not work without a reboot.

Start your session

  1. In order to start your coding session click the link below and enter your email address, VIN and order number.
Once connected, please send any message in the chat that you are ready to begin. The technician will not be able to contact you first unless you let him know that you're there and ready for the session.

A small tip: since your technician will be using your computer to code your vehicle, we recommend starting the chat on a second device (such as a second laptop, a phone, or a tablet), to make it easier to communicate with the technician during the session.
  2. Start TeamViewer application. Make sure that in the bottom left corner you see "Ready to connect". Your on-screen ID and password would be displayed on the bottom right side. Copy and send those to the chat with technician (just a reminder, there is no need to register on the TeamViewer website, follow the prompts from the picture below).

In the older version of a TeamViewer you will find your ID and password as shown on the picture below:

  3. Connect the coding cable only after the technician asks you to do so. Here’s a video on how to do it:

  4. During the coding session, our technician will ask you to start the engine of your vehicle.
Please keep that in mind in case your car is located in a garage.

  5. If you get disconnected during the session, please reconnect using the link below and send a message that you are ready to continue.
