Prior to shipping your new i3 amplifier, we always aim to pre-load it with a custom DSP tuning file based on the types of tracks you enjoy listening to and how you like to play them. What is vital though, before you decide on your upgrade you should check which original stereo option your i3 has. The amount of speakers and the presence of an amp will be different in Base, than in Hi-Fi (S676A), or Harman Kardon (S674A). You can look up which one of these is yours by decoding your VIN.

The install shouldn’t be burdensome either. Beginner DIY-ers will find that project rather intuitive, as all there is to do is disconnect and take out the factory i3 BMW speakers / amplifier, and replace them with a BimmerTech kit. Plus, everything is entirely reversible.
